Bølge — Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Bølge does not collect personal data such as name, email, or contacts. The app does not require user accounts.

Streaming content is delivered directly from third-party radio stations.

Data Collection

We do not collect or store personal information such as name, email, or contacts.

Network Usage

The app streams publicly available radio stations using their official stream URLs and may load public news feeds (RSS). These third-party sources are not controlled by the app.

Location

Bølge requests access to your device location ("When In Use" only) to display local weather on the front page. Coordinates are used solely to fetch weather data from Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) and are not stored on our servers or linked to your identity. Location access is optional — if you decline, the app will show weather for a default location (Sykkylven, Norway).

Audio and Speech Processing

The app may process audio locally on the user's device to provide live transcription features.

Audio processing uses Apple's system speech recognition frameworks. In the App Store version, no audio data from radio streams is sent to servers operated by Bølge or the developer for transcription.

Speech recognition may involve Apple services and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy, depending on your device and settings.

The app does not record or store raw audio from radio streams.

Generated transcripts may be temporarily stored on the device to improve user experience. These transcripts are not transmitted to servers operated by Bølge or the developer.

Third-Party Services
